An imam in a village leads the Eid prayer for the men and then for the women
Question
There is a very small settlement in which even the Jumu‘a prayer is not held, yet the imam leads the prayer of the two Eids: first he leads the men in the open country, and then, coming to the mosque, he leads all the women in the Eid prayer in the mosque, in which no man participates — only the women and the male imam himself — and he leads it without any screen in between.
Answer
In a settlement where the Jumu‘a prayer is not permissible there is no Eid prayer either; performing the Eid prayer there is severely makruh. This practice of the imam is wrong according to the Shari‘a, and abandoning it is wajib.
