When to make du'a in connection with the Eid prayer

Question

At what time should du'a be made in the prayer of the two Eids?

Answer

If du'a is made immediately after the Eid prayer, this falls under the general meaning of the hadith in which du'a after every prayer is mentioned. Some people, instead of making du'a after the Eid prayer, make du'a after the khutba — this is not established by any narration, hadith, text, or fiqh. The same is stated in Imdad al-Fatawa (p. 1/2).
