Question
بينوا طريق الحق يا أهل الحق.[/ar] What do you say — may your excellence endure — about the Arabic khutba translated into the language of non-Arabs: is it permissible according to the Hanafis without karaha (disapproval) or not? And if it is permissible, is it permissible with karaha tahrimi, or with karaha tanzihi, or without it?
Answer
[ar]السنة المتوارثة في خطبة الجمعة هي أن تكون بالعربية، والخطبة بغير العربية -سواء كانت مترجمة بالهندية أو بالفارسية أو بغيرهما- لكونها خلاف السنة بدعة مكروهة.[/ar] “The inherited sunna (handed down from generation to generation) regarding the Friday khutba is that it be in Arabic.
