Repeating the funeral prayer

Question

Can the funeral prayer for one [deceased] be performed again in congregation or not? Can some new people, and also some of the earlier ones, join in it or not?

Answer

If the funeral prayer was performed without the permission of the guardian (wali), it is proper for the wali to perform it again; new people may take part in it, while those who have already performed it earlier should not take part: [ar]فإن صلى غيره، أي غير من له حق التقدم، أعادها إن شاء، ولا يعيد معه من صلى مع غيره[/ar] “If someone else prayed, i.e.
