Commission for carrying currency notes
Question
Some pilgrims give another pilgrim currency notes of their own country and say: “Exchange my notes for Hajj notes and take them along with you to Saudi Arabia; hand them over to me there, and I will give you such-and-such a commission in return.” Is this permissible? If not, what is the way to make it permissible?
Answer
This too is not permissible. One should take along only as many of one’s own notes as the law permits, and should not carry more than that by paying a commission.
