Why Non-Muslims Are Barred from Entering the Haram

Question

Why are non-Muslims not allowed to enter Noble Makkah, when here in India Muslims and Hindus live together and all the Hindus go to visit Muslim spiritual guides?

Answer

Only one who holds a royal warrant may enter the royal court; anyone else may not. The royal warrant is iman, whose sign is the kalima: [ar]لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللّٰهِ[/ar] “There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
