The length and width of the Prophet’s ﷺ blessed shirt

Question

Question: What was the kurta (a long loose shirt) of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ like — did it have side gussets or not? How long and how wide was it?

Answer

Among the Arabs there was generally no custom of side gussets; it appears that the blessed shirt too was like that. The length was to mid-shin or somewhat more, (but) above the ankles. The sleeves were to the wrists and to the fingers — both are established. The width was in proportion to the blessed body (Badhl al-Majhud and the commentary on the Shama’il).
