Annulment of Nikah Because the Husband Became a Qadiani
Question
Zayd says: my daughter was five years old, and when she was married the boy was also five years old. Now both have come of age, each being about eighteen years old. I told the boy’s family many times that the girl is of age, so take her to your home, but they kept putting it off. Since I do not wish to keep a grown daughter at home, we also convened a community council of several people and told them to take the girl, but they refused. The boy’s family, together with the boy, have become Qadianis.
Answer
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, on account of his denial of the definitive texts (nusus qat‘iyya) and his beliefs contrary to the Sacred Law, is an unbeliever and an apostate, and whoever adopts his beliefs is likewise an unbeliever and an apostate. By the husband’s apostasy the nikah is annulled, and no need for divorce remains.
