The Presenting of the Pure Wives to the Prophets in Their Graves

Question

(a) Some people say that in the pure graves of the prophets ﵈ their pure wives are presented to them, and they spend the nights with them. Is this statement correct? (b) Also, do hearing, sight and perception increase after death? The hearing, sight and perception of ordinary people, and even of the kafirs, increase — is this correct or not? (c) Also, what is the meaning of the saying “the wilaya of the prophet is superior to his prophethood” (ولاية النبي أفضل من نبوته)?

Answer

(a) The life of the prophets ﵈ in their graves is the life of the barzakh (the intermediate realm), which is stronger than the life of this world — just as the light of a lamp spreads throughout the whole room, but when a basin is placed over it, its light becomes confined, yet it becomes stronger than before.
