Greeting a Qadiani or a Shi‘i with Salam and Replying to It
Question
What is the ruling of the noble Sacred Law on greeting with salam the Shi‘a, who are called Rafidis, or the followers of Mirza Qadiani, and on replying to their salam?
Answer
One should not greet these people with salam. If they offer salam, then in reply one should say only “wa ‘alaykum” (وعليكم), or one should say “hadaka Allah” (هداك الله — “may Allah guide you”).
