Entitlement to Salary for the Long Vacation
Question
There is a religious institution in which several teachers have been working for several years. It so happened that in the middle of last year some teachers had a grievance against the respected rector, because of which, according to the madrasa’s rules, the teachers tendered their resignation, i.e. a month in advance.
Answer
Generally, the well-known practice (ta‘amul ma‘ruf) of religious madrasas in our parts is this: on whatever date in the month of Sha‘ban the year finishes, the salary up to that date is binding on account of the work performed. After that comes the long vacation.
