Making an Eidgah Two-Storeyed, and the Use of the Old Eidgah
Question
The Eidgah (ground for the Eid prayer) of Muzaffarnagar has come to be within the built-up area and is insufficient for the worshippers. Is it preferable to build another Eidgah outside the built-up area, or to add a second storey to this one? And in the first case, what should be done with the old Eidgah?
Answer
If they are able to make it two-storeyed, let them make it two-storeyed. If they build another Eidgah outside the built-up area, then let them declare the present Eidgah a mosque. They may also do this: keep the present Eidgah as an Eidgah, and those who have a valid excuse (ma‘dhur) should perform the Eid prayer in it.
