The imam trading in the mosque

Question

If an imam trades by keeping cloth and the like in the mosque, is this permissible or not?

Answer

Trading by keeping cloth and the like in the part of the mosque where the prayer is performed is makruh tahrimi. If the imam does not desist from this, he deserves to be removed.
