Buying and selling in the washroom or the place where shoes are removed

Question

The place of the mosque where shoes are removed, or the washroom, and the chamber or building that was constructed for the needs of the mosque or for something necessary to it — is buying and selling there permissible for one who is not in iʿtikaf, regardless of whether the item being sold is present there or not?

Answer

Buying and selling in the mosque is contrary to the sanctity of the mosque. The part mentioned in the question is not a mosque in the Sharʿi sense, and honouring it is not necessary; therefore buying and selling there is permissible according to the Sharia, on condition that the worshippers are not inconvenienced.
