Election Meetings in the Mosque

Question

If a person holds a political meeting in the mosque in connection with an election, using the mosque as an electoral and political platform, is this correct according to the Shariʿa, and what is the ruling of the Shariʿa regarding such people?

Answer

Mosques have not been built for worldly elections; such things should not be done in the mosque. Those who do so are in the wrong.
