Giving an Item Belonging to a Mosque to Another Mosque as a Gift
Question
(1) One mosque has many copies of the Holy Qur’an; is it permissible to give (them) to another mosque as a gift or not? (2) Likewise, is it permissible, when there is a need, to give an item belonging to one mosque to another mosque as a gift or for use, or not?
Answer
With the permission of the people who gave those copies of the Noble Qur’an to this mosque, it is correct, in the situation asked about, to give them to another mosque. (2) If that item was bought for the mosque with this mosque’s money, then it is not correct to give it to another mosque — neither as a gift nor for use.
