Establishing an Elementary Religious School from the Income of a Mosque
Question
After the purchase of shares, the mosque’s income will increase. May an elementary religious school be started with this money or not, so that the mosque remains protected? If such a school is not started, what are the heads of expenditure for the surplus money?
Answer
It is not permitted to start an independent elementary religious school from such income. However, if the supervision and protection of the mosque cannot be ensured without such a school, then precisely such an imam and muezzin should be appointed as will also render teaching service, and their allowance and salary should be increased.
