Prayer in a Mosque Built with Lawful and Unlawful Money

Question

If a mosque is built with lawful and unlawful wealth, is it permissible to pray in it or not? Buying with lawful money after buying with lawful and unlawful money If that same mosque is bought with lawful wealth, is it valid to pray in it or not? And further: if people at that time return to the buyer, is it permissible to take that money or not?

Answer

(1) Putting unlawful wealth into a mosque is impermissible. If land is bought with unlawful wealth and a mosque is built on it, prayer in it is makruh. (2) If, after buying with unlawful wealth, the sale (bayʿ) is annulled and then the land is bought with lawful wealth and a mosque is built, prayer in it is valid.
