Selling the Grille of the Mosque’s Well to Make Doors for the Mosque
Question
Construction is under way at the mosque of this humble servant’s neighbourhood, and the neighbourhood is very poor. At present there is the matter of door leaves for the outer gate. What I wish to ask is this: in this mosque there is an iron grille that used to cover the well, but now, since the well has been closed, it lies idle. If it is sold and door leaves are made, is there anything objectionable in this according to the Shariʿa?
Answer
There is nothing objectionable in this; it is allowed.
