One share assigned half-and-half to one’s parents
Question
Question: If a man took two shares in a sacrificial animal — one share for himself and one share for his parents, dividing it half and half — will his parents receive reward or not? Whether the parents are alive or have passed away.
Answer
He should take both shares on his own behalf, and then, once the sacrifice has been made, convey the reward of one (of them) to his parents. The reward can be conveyed to all — the living and the dead.
