Giving permission to be included in a sacrifice and then refusing

Question

Question: A man said to some person in another village: “Take a share for me in the buffalo for the ‘Id al-Adha sacrifice,” i.e. “include me,” and he gave no money. And that person included his share. When the sacrifice had been done and (he) tried to deliver the meat to that man, at that very time that man refused, saying: “I do not take the share.” The person who had included the share ate the meat, i.e. he ate the meat because of his refusal. So whose will that share be, and who will pay the money?

Answer

If he had given permission regarding the price and the like — “on my behalf you have authority up to such and such a price” — whether he gave permission in explicit words, or the other understood from his circumstances or manner of conduct that he had permission from him to that extent, then that share belongs to the one who said (i.e. who gave the instruction).
