The reward of one share for several people

Question

Question: Zayd makes one sacrifice on his own behalf, and one on behalf of his parents, paternal grandfather, paternal grandmother, maternal grandfather and maternal grandmother — in short, on behalf of several deceased persons. Will the sacrifice be valid in this way, and will the reward of one sacrifice reach all these deceased?

Answer

In this way the sacrifice will be valid, and the reward will also reach all of them. Hazrat the noble Prophet ﷺ conveyed the reward of one sacrifice to the entire Umma (“Shami”, vol. 5, p. 207).
