The intention of selling the meat in a sacrifice
Question
Question: Seven people together bought an animal; then it became known that one person’s intention was to sell the meat, not sacrifice — he is a meat-seller by trade. Will this not cause any harm to the sacrifice of the others?
Answer
Someone else who is offering a sacrifice should buy his share, and after that the sacrifice should be made; otherwise the sacrifice of all will be spoiled — no one’s will be valid (Shami, vol. 5, p. 208).
