Six people offering one share of the sacrifice on behalf of the Prophet ﷺ
Question
Question: How many shares can be made in a sacrificial animal? What is the ruling on keeping a share for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a sacrificial animal — is it wajib or sunna? And what is the way of doing it? For example, six people together bought a cow, each of them first fixed one share for himself, and the one remaining share is the joint share of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on behalf of these six companions. Is it permissible in this way for all of them to participate in one share?
Answer
There is no contradiction between the answer given here and the ruling of Bihishti Zewar. It is only that the ruling in Bihishti Zewar makes no mention of fulfilling the wajib or of conveying reward, whereas the answer given here explains this in detail.
