Buying an animal and then taking six shareholders into it

Question

Question: Zayd bought for sacrifice an animal in which there can be seven shares, and he has to sacrifice only one share. Can he now take six people into it as partners, that is, sell six shares and receive their price? Will the sacrifice be fulfilled by this or not?

Answer

The sacrifice will be fulfilled even by doing this, but it is better that before buying the animal he finds six more partners, and when all seven partners are gathered, then he buys the animal (Majma‘ al-Anhur, vol. 2, p. 518).
