Sacrifice when one has some gold and some silver

Question

Question: A person has one tola (a unit of weight, ≈ 11.66 g) of gold worth 145 rupees and a one-rupee note. Will the sacrifice be wajib upon him or not? The price of silver at present is about two and a quarter rupees per tola.

Answer

At this rate, the sacrifice is wajib on such an amount of wealth, provided this wealth is in excess of his basic needs (hajat asliyya).
