Washing the Beard in Wudu and Combing It Through (Takhlil)
Question
In defining the boundary of the face in wudu (hadd al-wajh fi al-wudu’), the jurists wrote: “from where the hair begins to grow to the bottom of the chin” (min qusas al-sha‘r ila asfal al-dhaqan). What I wish to ask is: is the limit (ghaya) included in what it delimits (mughayya) or not? That is, is it necessary to wash the bottom of the chin or not? And what is the ruling when there is a beard? Please also write what the position on which fatwa is given (mufta bihi)
