Does the Prayer Also Become Makruh When a Sunna of Wudu Is Left Out?
Question
Just as using the miswak in wudu is an emphasized sunna (sunna mu'akkada), and when a sunna is left out the act of wudu becomes deficient; and secondly, talking about worldly matters while performing wudu is makruh — does this deficiency and makruh status remain confined to that act alone, or does its being deficient and makruh carry over into the prayer? For a certain gentleman said in a talk: "Whoever's wudu is makruh, his prayer is makruh." How far is this correct?
Answer
Leaving out the sunnas of wudu does not make the prayer makruh; however, the reward is reduced.
