Prayer in clothing with madhy and wadi on it
Question
If madhy or wadi has got onto the body or the clothes, can one pray in that state without washing it? And if it is excused, what is the excused amount?
Answer
The jurists have classed madhy and wadi as heavy najasa (ghaliza). If an amount less than one dirham remains on the body or the clothes and one prays, the prayer will be performed with karaha (it will be disliked); if it is more, the prayer will not be valid at all. The measure of a liquid [impurity] can be estimated by the hollow of the palm.
