Are Clothes Washed by a Washerman Impure?
Question
Are clothes washed by a washerman pure or impure? For washermen do not wash a garment three times. If there is some stain, large or small, on a garment washed by a washerman, should it be purified or not?
Answer
If washermen wash clothes in a large pond, a canal or a river, then those clothes are pure: a garment lying in flowing water or in abundant water also has the ruling of washing it three times. If a fast mark (stain) remains while the substance of the impurity has been washed away, the garment is still pure.
