Wudu with Water Whose Properties Have Changed
Question
In a village there is a very large pit, and there is also a great deal of water in it, but because livestock come and go in it, one of the three properties of the water changes. The people of the village have no other water for wudu apart from it, unless they bring it from another village; they can bring [water] for drinking, but they cannot bring more than that, and they cannot draw from a well either because of poverty.
Answer
Wudu and ghusl with such water are permissible, since it is larger even than ten by ten cubits, and so it has the ruling of flowing water (ma' jari): its ruling will not change through the change of some property. Hence, while this water is available, tayammum is not permissible.
