The fast is invalidated when ejaculation results from touching

Question

While fasting, Zayd spoke with his wife from a distance and took hold of her hand, so that ejaculation (inzal) occurred. Did the fast remain, was it broken, or did some defect occur in it?

Answer

The fast has been broken; a make-up (qada) will be necessary.
