Inserting a Finger into the Anus While Fasting

Question

If someone, while fasting, inserts a wet finger into the anus for the purpose of cleaning, will the fast be judged broken by this or not?

Answer

If the wet finger reaches the place of the enema (mahall al-huqna), the fast will be broken: [ar]إذا دخل إصبعه مبلولة اهـ في دبره، أو استنجى فوصل الماء إلى داخل دبره أو فرجها الداخل بالمبالغة فيه، والحد الفاصل الذي يتعلق بالوصول إليه الفساد قدر المحقنة، قلما يكون ذلك[/ar] “If his moistened (?) finger entered his anus, or he performed istinja’ (washing)
