Inserting a Finger and Kissing While Fasting

Question

What is the ruling, with regard to the fast, on having intercourse with one’s wife after eating suhur, or inserting a finger into her private part, or her inserting it herself? Does doing any of this make any difference to the fast, or is qada wajib, or what? Please answer.

Answer

Before true dawn (subh sadiq), there is no harm to the fast from these things — or even from intercourse — because the fast does not begin merely by eating suhur; rather, it begins at true dawn, so before that there is no fast at all.
