Saying the First and Last Words of the Du'a after the Prayer Aloud
Question
In Delhi there is a custom that, because of the large number of muqtadis, when the imam begins the du'a one person says aloud «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ» (“Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds”), and at the end of the du'a «برحمتك…» (“By Your mercy…”). Is this permissible or not?
Answer
It is permissible, but there is no need to make a point of it (ihtimam).
