Regular Observance of Du‘a’ After Every Prayer
Question
Concerning making du‘a’ after the prayer there is the narration of ‘Amal al-Yawm wa-l-Layla, and Hazrat dictated in his answer [the proof] for making du‘a’ with raised hands. Is there also any hadith in which both things together are established from the Prophet ﷺ as a constant practice?
Answer
The manner of observing du‘a’ that you want is difficult to establish as a constant practice through a hadith about [the Prophet’s ﷺ] practice. For establishing [du‘a’] itself, what was already submitted is sufficient — namely the strong hadith of ‘Amal al-Yawm wa-l-Layla. Al-Kawkab al-Durri touches on this, probably in Kitab al-Da‘awat; look there.
