Supplications After the Prayer

Question

What are the transmitted (ma’thur) supplications that are reported in the hadiths for after ‘Asr and Fajr, and those for after any fard prayer in general?

Answer

[ar]عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ﵂ تَقُولُ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ قَالَ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا»[/ar] Umm Salama ﵂ says: “When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the dawn prayer, he would say: ‘O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, accepted deeds and wholesome provision.
