Saying Amin to the Imam’s Du‘a or Making One’s Own

Question

During the imam’s du‘a, should one only say “amin”, or may the muqtadi (follower) also make his own du‘a? Which of the two is preferable?

Answer

Let him make his own du‘a or keep saying “amin” — both are correct. In du‘a, saying it inaudibly (ikhfa’) is better.
