The Du‘a After the Tashahhud
Question
Which du‘as did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite in the tashahhud? And which after the prayer? Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ make this du‘a: [ar]اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ، وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، وَإِلَيْكَ يَرْجِعُ السَّلَامُ، حَيِّنَا رَبَّنَا بِالسَّلَامِ، وَأَدْخِلْنَا دَارَ السَّلَامِ، تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ[/ar] “O Allah, You are Peace (al-Salam), from You is peace, and to You peace returns. Let us live, our Lord, in peace, and admit us into the Abode of Peace.
Answer
In the state of tashahhud, before the salam, [the du‘as] [ar]اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي…[/ar] “O Allah, I have wronged myself…” and [ar]اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ…[/ar] “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell…”, and others are transmitted — see the chapter “Du‘a in the Tashahhud” (Bab al-du‘a’ fi al-tashahhud)
