Tasbih After Prayer, Moving Back from the Row
Question
If a person recites the tasbih that is recited after the Fajr prayer and the ‘Asr prayer by moving back from the congregation and sitting [there], what is the ruling on this? I have heard that reciting it in this way — sitting, having moved back from the row — is better (afdal).
Answer
That person is not open to objection. If, because of reciting the tasbih while sitting in the row, onlookers might suppose that the congregational prayer is still in progress and has not yet finished, then reciting it after moving back from the row is better (afdal), in order to remove that supposition.
