Recitation contrary to the order of suras in tarawih

Question

After the khatm of the Qur’an, the hafiz recites “muflihun” (?) [and] a few supplicatory verses and the like. Is this permissible according to the hadiths and fiqh, and is the two-rak‘a [prayer] regarded as complete or not?

Answer

It is better to do so, and no defect enters the prayer because of it: [ar]ويكره الفصل بسورة قصيرة، وأن يقرأ منكوسًا، إلا إذا ختم فيقرأ من البقرة. قال في شرح المنية: وفي الولوالجية: من يختم القرآن في الصلاة إذا فرغ من المعوذتين في الركعة الأولى يركع، ثم يقرأ في الثانية بالفاتحة وشيء من سورة البقرة؛ لأن النبي ﷺ قال: «خير الناس الحال المرتحل»
