Qada’ of tahajjud

Question

[Someone] prayed two rak‘as of nafl at the time of ‘isha’ in place of tahajjud, and in the morning also prayed the qada’ of tahajjud. Is this correct or not?

Answer

These two [rak‘as] are not tahajjud at all. Whoever was unable to pray tahajjud should pray twelve rak‘as before zawal; in sha’ Allah, he will obtain the reward of tahajjud.
