Praying additional nafl after witr

Question

A few days ago a certain religious scholar stated the ruling that after the witr prayer there are no other nafl except two rak‘as of nafl, and therefore whoever wishes to pray any amount of nafl prayer should pray [it] before the witr prayer. Is this correct?

Answer

Praying more than two [rak‘as of] nafl after witr is permissible. The religious scholar who said this should be asked for his proof (dalil).
