Reciting Only “جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ” in “إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ” or Only “سَعْيُكُم” in “وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم”
Question
If the imam in prayer forgetfully omits a word — for example, in “إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ” he recites [only] “جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ”, or in “وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا” (76:22) he leaves out “وَكَانَ” and recites only “سَعْيُكُم” — is the prayer valid or not?
Answer
In both of these cases the prayer did not become fasid (invalid). The ruling, however, is not the same for every case: as the case is, so will the ruling be.
