What to do if “Qul a‘udhu bi-rabbi al-nas” was recited in the first rak‘a

Question

If a person, in a four-rak‘a prayer, recites “Qul a‘udhu bi-rabbi al-nas” (Surah al-Nas, 114) in the first rak‘a, which sura should he recite in the remaining three rak‘as?

Answer

In the remaining ones too he should recite “Qul a‘udhu bi-rabbi al-nas” itself. If this is a fard prayer, he will recite it only in the second [rak‘a]; if it is a nafl, sunna or wajib prayer, he will recite it in all the remaining rak‘as.
