The prayer when one verse in the middle is skipped

Question

Zayd, in the Maghrib prayer, in the second verse of Surah al-Humaza recited “akhladahu” instead of “mumaddadah” (?), and, skipping the third verse, recited the fourth. Has the wajib [recitation] of three verses been omitted by this or not? Must the prayer be repeated or not?

Answer

In this case the prayer will be valid. The three verses need not be consecutive: the prayer is also valid with three verses taken together. The recitation should not be such that a defect in the prayer results from it.
