Starting one sura and then switching to another

Question

If someone in prayer begins one sura or one ruku‘ and then, out of concern for the order and the like, immediately begins another sura or ruku‘, is it permissible to do so?

Answer

One should indeed observe the order, but if through forgetfulness or error a person begins some sura or ruku‘ out of order, there is no need to leave it and recite the sura and ruku‘ in order; this is makruh.
