Is the tashahhud wajib for the masbuq?

Question

The masbuq is in the second rak‘a. The question now is: is the tashahhud wajib for him, or sunna, or mustahabb? Then, what is the status of reciting it in the fourth rak‘a (his third)? And the same question applies when he is a masbuq in the last rak‘a. Please determine the level [of the ruling] with a reference. We would be grateful.

Answer

For the masbuq the tashahhud is wajib in following the imam, because he too is a muqtadi (follower). And when, after the imam’s salam, he completes the remainder of his prayer, reciting the tashahhud in every sitting (qa‘da) will be wajib.
