The masbuq performs sajda al-sahw but does not give the salam
Question
بينوا بالصواب مع صفحات الكتاب.[/ar] “What do the Hanafi scholars say concerning this question: if the imam owes the two prostrations of forgetfulness (sajda al-sahw) and behind him there is a masbuq, should he give the salam of the tashahhud with the imam or not? If the second, does [his] following (iqtida’) remain?
Answer
[ar]المسبوق يتبع إمامه في سجود السهو لا في السلام، وإذا سجد الإمام سجد معه، وهو في اقتدائه حتى يقطع الإمام صلاته، فإذا قطع قام وأتم ما عليه وقضى، فإن سلم مع الإمام فإن كان عامدًا فسدت صلاته وإلا لا.[/ar] “The masbuq follows his imam in sajda al-sahw but not in the salam.
