Awwabin and tahajjud in congregation

Question

Is it makruh or not to perform nafl prayers in congregation, and in particular to pray tahajjud and awwabin in congregation in blessed Ramadan?

Answer

According to Imam Abu Hanifa ﵀, congregation in nafl prayers by way of calling people together (‘ala sabil al-tada‘i) is makruh. The congregation of tarawih in blessed Ramadan is indeed mentioned, but no other nafl (after maghrib or at the end of the night) has been exempted from karaha.
